In-Progress Student Work
Students began the project by working on project planning worksheets and sketches inspired by Kimmy Cantrell’s Mask sculptures. Using their planning worksheets, students then begin cutting their shapes and assembling their creative creature masks. Students work collaboratively, sharing materials and helping each other, cutting materials, and thinking through ideas.

In-Progress Student Work
During this one-day lesson, students read Be A Tree and identified similarities between us and the natural world around us. Here, we analyzed our lines in our hands that look very similar to the veins of a leaf. Using printmaking techniques, students experimented with making personal tree prints with real leaves!
